About Us

Our mission is to bring Chautauqua County opportunities to train dogs to both compete in sports and live in society as good ambassadors of their species. We believe that every dog deserves a chance at a great life, and only through proper training and socialization can we give them that chance.

We believe every dog is an individual. Each dog learns at a different rate, with different needs. We utilize principles of behavioral science, different methodologies and training tools if needed to create positive reinforcement loops.

Positive reinforcement is the best way to create discretionary effort and ensure behavioral longevity. That being said, we recognize that natural reinforcers exist in nature and real-life situations don't always lend themselves to the sterile environments we typically train in. Therefore, while we do not recommend every dog and owner utilize the same training tools, we do teach owners to utilize LIMA (least invasive, minimally aversive) methodology to quickly create positive reinforcement loops where true learning happens, even in real-life or high arousal environments.

We also recognize that off-leash freedom is a very positive part of quality of life for our canine companions. While we advocate strongly for smart practices when it comes to safety, we also think that dogs deserve to experience life without being tethered 100% of the time. To this end we have trainers educated in teaching e-collar techniques to create positive associations and reinforce recalls even from far distance. We can also pair e-collars to reinforcement creating a long distance "marker" much like a clicker to help train distance behaviors.
